What is Verite?

Verite is a fully-built ecommerce template for fashion and lifestyle brands. It is designed for founders selling linen essentials, streetwear, or any considered clothing line that deserves better than a generic theme.
Built with Framer Commerce and native Shopify integration, Verite comes with a working shop, product pages, cart, checkout, filterable collections, a stories/editorial section, and a full brand storytelling system.

The Problem

Most fashion templates on Framer look great in the preview and fall apart the moment someone tries to actually sell something.
No real cart. No real inventory. Filters that don't filter.
I wanted to build the opposite — a template that behaves like a working store from the first click.

Starting with Research, Not Design

Before opening Framer, I studied Awwwards-winning ecommerce sites — P448, Polène, Hopaal — to understand what separates a $10K custom build from a templated one.
The answer wasn't more features. It was restraint, pacing, and letting imagery carry the brand's tone before a single word of copy is read.

Designing for a Real Buyer

I mapped who actually buys a $99–$129 ecommerce template — solo founders launching a considered clothing brand, and agencies building client storefronts on repeat.
Every design decision was made backward from their journey: homepage → category discovery → product detail → cart → checkout.

Building the Brand Layer

Building the Brand Layer Vérité needed to feel like a real store, not a template demo — so it got a real brand system: naming, palette, typography, and a full product catalog.
16 SKUs across two collections — Linen & Natural Fibre, and Streetwear — each with real Shopify inventory, variants, and pricing.

Product Pages That Sell, Not Just List

Each product page includes a dynamic image gallery, a material-story section, and cross-product recommendations — all pulling live from Shopify metafields, not hardcoded.
The goal: make a $65 linen shirt feel considered, not generic.

What Actually Took the Time?

Real Shopify integration meant real problems — inventory tracking silently disabled by default, metafield types that looked right but wouldn't resolve, image galleries with rigid slot counts that broke with real product photos.
Every one of these was solved at the data layer, not patched around visually.

What This Taught Me

A template isn't a design exercise — it's a product. The parts buyers never see (inventory sync, metafield architecture, checkout flow) matter more than the parts they screenshot.
Vérité was built to hold up under real use, not just first impressions.
