Baltzly, Vaughn Bryan. "Same-sex marriage, polygamy, and disestablishment." Social theory and practice 38.2 (2012): 333-362.
The article focuses on the development factors that ignite a new wake on legal practices and marriage to constitute similar-sex relationships and heterosexual unions. The author indicates that heterosexual partners can be obligated to marry sanctioned on the current developments. On the other hand, similar-sex partners can be disallowed. Further, Baltzly designates that homo-sexual have not been given the freedom and rights to formalize a partnership with their loves, unlike heterosexuals. The philosophical arguments on marriage develop to the fundamental necessities in marriage. The definition and historical enhancement of marriage philosophies shape the current contested debates on marriage. Most of the ethical stands about marriage can be related and dissected on the inquiry of whether a union should be determined by a formal contract signed by spouses or should be institutionalized. Also, further acknowledgments regard the essential purposes constituting procreation and the reduced marital love association.
I agree that people's perceptions about marriage have changed due to certain influential factors. The most notable ones include adoption, marriage implications to the economy, and political ideas. For instance, those who adopt children find it the best thing to do, instead of waiting for nine months to have a baby. Adoption has been the most straightforward way of complementing marriages.
The source will be essential since it shows that people believe on marriage can be altered by new developments. Thus, people can resort to align themselves with transformative and popular practices. The arguments are based on factors that can cause a change, like marriages.
The Christian Century
The author says the Church, through its leaders, has challenged the sexuality of the congregants. Some go to recommend certain sexual practices to the marriage partners. This can cause perception to other people who are yet to decide whether to marry. The Church can influence the sexuality of its congregants. The author says the developments in the entertainment industry constituted with the focus of applying appropriate marketing methods to preach practical faith and develop the Church has ignited a proclivity for ministerial gimmicks that are impacted well in people who attend the sermons. Moreover, some Churches preach crazy proposals to the sexual partners present in the Church. The Church can use the married couples present in the congregation to influence and favor certain marketable church ideologies concerning people's sexual lives. In such environments, unmarried people can be glued to follow the relevant practices of the Church on marriage and sexual practices.
I think the Church currently has lost its central focus. In the same vein that a particular Church could be spearheading the adoption of specific practices, another one will be preaching on extending mercy to the homeless, neglected, and malnourished. Such Churches could be favoring adoption ideologies.
This source is essential for this study since it shows that the Church has a significant role in sexuality and influencing marriage practices.
Russo Garrido, Anahi. "Between Same-Sex Marriage, Convivencia, and Polyamory: A New Cartography of Queer Relationships in Mexico City." Signs: Journal of Women in Culture and Society 46.1 (2020): 127-149.https://doi-org.ezproxy.cyclib.nocccd.edu/10.1086/709216
The article presents an ethnographic examination of typical gender sexuality in Latin America and Mexico. Western ideas have had a significant influence on people's lives, which has caused them to pay attention to gender issues and sexual identity formation. Many have criticized the Western culture, which seems to accept specific stories and subjects. The author says reduced attention has been given to the subject's associations, which have been influential in queering Mexican politics. Public debates have risen in Mexico over same-sex unions and polyamory. The sources investigate the changes in intimacy in women's lives as a sexual identity is re-evaluated in Mexico. The author recommends that women taking part in queer spacing should negotiate new cartographies of intimate associations. There will be the emergence of new words inscribing the terrain, including marriage and polyamory that will circulate. The authors describe their new sexual associations with their associates and their distinct communities, the state, and multinational discourses. The article assesses how Mexican women in the city are discussing new cartographies of intimate associations and inquiring on the heteronormativity and mononormativity in practice.
I agree that the world is changing, and people's perceptions of life's cultural issues are changing. Mexican women present a case where developing new intimate connections can be re-evaluated at different angles. There is a different look of things that development changes have determined.
The source will be essential since it directs to a setting that considers new perceptions and practices on marriage and building relationships.
Mehta, Samira K., and Brett Krutzsch. "The Changing Jewish Family: Jewish Communal Responses to Interfaith and Same-Sex Marriage." American Jewish History 104.4 (2020): 553-577. https://doi-org.ezproxy.cyclib.nocccd.edu/10.1353/ajh.2020.0051
The article highlights the dynamic nature of the issues about marriage and the changing perceptions about marriage. People will likely abandon their religious beliefs and get carried away by popular beliefs and ideologies. Many Jews who were gay reformists opine that allowing religious people to conduct their activities and get committed at gay ceremonies was victorious. The Gay Reformists movement became the first significant type of religion to implement official sanctions on same-sex unions. The Reform Rabbis debate on equality, which can be realized by including typical gender associations basing the facts that they were gay Jews and lacked the choice of defining their sexuality. Even some Jewish religious leaders belonging to the Reform Rabbis went public and declared a Jew could marry another Jew of the opposite sex and ensure that they confide in his spouse. Other leaders created and participated in ritual ceremonies of transgender and queer Jews, which included ritual bath, a gender confirmation ceremony that happens when transgender Jews transform from their dispensed birth sex to their required gender.
I think the article is not clear on the issue of Rabbis participating in transgender ceremonies. To my common knowledge, Jewish people strongly hold on the basic principles and teachings of Jesus Christ. Finding them participating in things that are against the Biblical laws shows religious ignorance and selfish depictions.
The article will be essential since it shows that religion does not have the power to convince and direct people on what to do, especially when dealing with critical issues.
Epstein, Richard A. "The Constitutionality of Proposition 8." Harv. JL & Pub. Pol'y 34 (2011): 879.
The article argues that contentious marriage issues are highly politicized during election campaigns. However, when the article ends by placing the constitutional provisions as having more significant power over the politicized matters. Therefore, this source presents a suggestable argument that should direct the position of the marriage debate. The author says that the techniques of issuing state marriage licenses should be determined by the lens of the doctrine of unlawful environments. There can be gay and political activists and also religious institutions in a state. However, when the government takes control to formalize marriage issues, they will have to move with the constitutional directive. Also, this source signifies Proposition 8, referencing constitutional law. First, there is a place of the Equal Protection Clause, which provides the Privileges or Immunities Clause and the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. The sections dictated by immunities and privileges targeted to address the fundamental rights that acquired explicit defense. Furthermore, the article shows that people do not turn up quickly to people struggling with pressing issues; however, creating a degree of moral development is dismissing the population's most profound principles and thinking they lack no reason.
I agree that contentious issues should be handled under special provisions of the law. Just like the Fourteenth Amendment provides the section for Immunities and Privileges, same-sex marriage issues require a lot of attention.
The source will be important since it highlights that critical marriage issues require special provisions and attention under the law.
Hegarty, Benjamin, et al. "Heterosexuality and race in the Australian same-sex marriage postal survey." Australian Feminist Studies 33.97 (2018): 400-416. https://doi-org.ezproxy.cyclib.nocccd.edu/10.1080/08164649.2018.1536441
The article debates on issues of class and race as significant determinants of sexual associations in Australia. An assessment of heterosexuality representations circulated and created during a particular proposal was considered in this study. The author describes that engaging with critical race theorists and feminists, the place of same-sex unions might not be exceptional but includes the broader dissemination of sexual, national identity in Australia's colonial history. The depictions implicated how similar-sex unions perpetuated heterosexual independence by authenticating the asserted claims and the occupied spaces. The article depicts heterosexuality in three related themes, for instance, in legitimate white heterosexual families from suburban regions. On the other hand, the author reveals that conceding divided perceptions that can be conservative or progressive portrayals predicts rather than advancing different visions that can exceed the reduced thoughts of sexual belonging provided by the whites in the colonial period.
I think class and race are not significant determinants of sexual relationships. Other issues are involved, such as impressions, perceptions, influence, and natural attraction. Therefore, one cannot argue that class and race are significant factors that explain why some people are in these relationships, while others do not fall in them.
The source will be essential since it shows some factors that cause people to belong to certain sexual relationships while not in other relationships. For this case, class and race have been mentioned as influential factors in creating associations.
Destro, Robert A. "You Have the Right to Remain Silent: Does the US Constitution Require Public Affirmation of Same-Sex Marriage." BYU J. Pub. L. 27 (2012): 397.
The sources describe that the US constitution plays a significant role in contentious issues such as same-sex marriage. The author says that political ideologies and legal propositions about marriage issues depend on the law that rules the land, which requires collective knowledge of devoted, same-sex associations. The United States constitution provides a background, structure, and information to support or oppose society's controversial issues. Thus, when the law has been used to enact something, it cannot be compelled through the community, individual, or association since every person is under the law. In this case, the law can establish a ground for making decisions on human sexuality and marriage behavior. The Constitution offers various sections with rules and regulations that control and dictate people's behavior and conduct. Thus, any individual, institution, or political figure cannot silence the progressive laws governing LGBT stands on human sexuality. Moreover, the author says that the argument on same-sex marriage cannot be reduced to ensuring that there is equality in some fundamental platforms of civic life, including adoption, medical and pension benefits, spousal aid, and changing of names.
I agree that the Constitution acts as the supreme law of the land. The Constitution ensures contentious issues have been deliberated upon, and a standard has been established. No one can undermine the law or challenge its existence.
The source will be essential since it shows that the Constitution can be a significant deliberator on contentious issues. The usage of Constitutional principles is referring to an equal law that governs States' activities.

  Attachment Theory

Attachment theory is an essential explanation of the various process and stages a child tends to undergo as they purport to get attached to their preferred caregivers. The theory is focused on the existing and intended relationship and bonds forged between people, with a firm basis and alignment on the long-term relationships (Trompeter, 2021). Importance aspect relationship tends to cultivate among different people, and the way it emerges to ultimate enhancement acted to influence the decision as to the ideal selected topic. Psychologists often categorize and describe attachment as a lasting and steadfast psychological connection between human beings. By incorporating attachment criteria within our actual consciousness, people tend to understand the various anxiety and distress experienced by an individual upon separation from their loved ones. With attachment in children, a child regularly receives comfort and protection when constantly maintaining proximity to their preferred attachment figure aiding in adulthood survival.
Attachment theory is centered in an elaborative explanation of that primary caregiver available and frequently respond to an infant's needs allows the child to develop a sense of security with perception that the caregiver is dependable, allowing for an opportunity for the child to explore the world. An explanation and conclusion were derived through research, which described three significant styles of attachment in a child: secure attachment, ambivalent-insecure attachment, and avoidant-insecure attachment. Interestingly, each style is accompanied by diverse and different behavioral styles showcased by the child ranging from distress, disorientation, confusion, dizziness, joy, and despair. With failure to develop early secure attachment, children's behavior in later childhood stages and throughout their lives is negatively impacted. Secure attachment inculcates good self-esteem, solid romantic relationship, and ability to self-confide with others.

Wholeness is Holiness and Attachment Theory

Humans were created and designed by God as physical, spiritual, and emotional beings. God created humans with intention to reciprocate the existing relationship. Notably, He was concerned with humans' emotional well-being with realization through enacting a great relationship with others. Individuals rely on and perceive their religious affiliations as their only answer to their human problems and forging a healthy relationship. Christianity beliefs that Christ is sufficient for salvation which is true due to my religious alignment. However, being a Christian does not deviate a person from being affected by various life problems. Though one can accumulate immense faith, one can be distressed with emotional instability or immaturity and insight deficiency which encompasses a destructive lifestyle.
Existing attachment wounds and deficits formed as one tends to grow in their early childhood induce negative attachment design comprising: insecurity, preoccupation with one activity, and anxious behaviors. As one grows, they sufficiently acclimatize with various strategies that act as coping mechanisms to withstand inevitable suffering done by other individuals to relate to the world (Black et al., 2018). Usually, these mechanisms help protect humans from foreseeable sufferings causing isolation from reality with declining trustworthiness to others. However, healing and self-actualization rarely occur in an isolated and disoriented mindset. Through relationships and interactions with others, an individual attains proposed healing process. With constant attachment, an individual will be lead to achieving an aptitude to attach to others without doubt and fear securely. Nature, nurture, and therapy shapes humans' brains and experiences, remodeling them to attain healthier emotions and thought patterns. Physical constraints and limitations are inevitable. However, with attachment theory, an ideal therapy reshapes the neuropathways creating a new attachment style.

Behavioral Therapy

Today, the progressively troubled and violent world has significant statistics of children vulnerable to abuse, abandonment, and neglect, emotionally and physically. A growing number of preschool children with anxiety and disruptive behavior disorders are challenging to contain in everyday settings, making psychoanalysts call for early interventions (Tyson 2005). Interventions aimed at helping a child develop a sense of agency, create moral standards, adopt self-responsibility, and achieve emotional control in early childhood; can form new procedural memories for interacting and regulating disruptive behavior and anxiety. The paper shows that behavioral therapy administered by parents is effective in controlling disruptive behavior in children.
The role of parenting in disruptive behavior is established by building on the centrality of parents and the coercive process in the development of disruptive problems. According to Joseph (2019), behavioral parent training reduces parent coercive or harmful behavior and increases a parent's positive behavior. The outcome of these changes in parenting is a change in the child’s disruptive problems (Joseph 2019). Parents assume varied roles in treating a child's anxiety relative to parent behavioral training with disruptive behavior challenges. Tyson (2005) highlights, parents assume the role of consultants to provide information, collaborators to assist with the child’s acquisition of coping skills, and co-clients to help children learn to manage their anxiety. Meaning programs focusing on changing parenting behaviors result in a change in child anxiety and disruptive behavior.
In conclusion, increasing positive parental behavior and decreasing negative or coercive parental behavior are critical interventions for disruptive problems in children. When parents grow attention for appropriate behavior, exert more control by setting consistent limits, and ignore or use time-out for inappropriate behavior results in lower levels of child anxiety.
