Primary Goal: Proofread and Edit blogs for clients of a digital marketing company.
Secondary Goal: Provide feedback in regards to particular edits and deliver final version of edited content to the marketing manager.
THE CHALLENGE
Working with a marketing company means many clients will be serviced. Clients are bound to have different approaches when it comes to the tone of their digital content. Should a blog be more casual, informational, etc.? What style guide does the client follow, if any? Knowing the answers to these questions helps not only in copywriting, but in editing as well. In this instance, I deliver the best possible edits and/or feedback to the client, according to their wishes, while maintaining constant communication with the writing team at Dr. Rissy's Writing & Marketing.
THE OUTCOME
As their editor, I periodically receive content-driven pieces from the writing team and examine each document for grammar mistakes, sentence restructuring, rewrites, etc. At the same time, each piece is carefully shaped to fit the client's style guide and tone.
Since 2022, I've edited over 350 pieces of digital marketing content for Dr. Rissy's.
Ryan is an exceptional editor who has seamlessly transitioned his craft from the literary space to written content for digital marketing. His understanding of language and grammar never ceases to amaze and educate me, making him an inspiring member of my editing team for the past year. In addition to that, he is always on top of any due dates or project management related elements, which places him a notch above other editors that I have worked with in the past. He is a tremendous asset to any individual or company that would want to have him.
