Problem Which Led To An Idea 🚩
Restaurants, pizzerias, fast-food outlets, bakeries etc. often discard unsold food at the close of business each day. This food could potentially find buyers if offered at reduced prices, thereby reducing waste and giving these meals a second chance. Additionally, many people who cannot afford full-priced meals from these establishments would appreciate the opportunity to purchase them at a discount.
An Idea 💡
The idea was to develop a mobile application compatible with Android and iOS platforms. Through this app, restaurants, pizzerias, fast-food outlets etc. can list unsold food at reduced prices 1-2 hours before closing. Users can browse these offers and reserve their choices with a single click. They then have the option to pick up their food directly from the establishment at a lower cost or choose delivery to their address. This solution benefits everyone involved: it reduces food waste, satisfies customers, and helps businesses recover costs.
The Solution 📦
As the solution, we developed an application that allows customers to easily browse food they like and check the wanted offers or select their favorite food and get notified when it's available in some of the restaurants. Users can also track how much money and food they saved, also the restaurants have a nice smooth UI and functionalities via which they can track status of their offers and how much did they sell.
