Northline Roofing Co. is an independent website created for a modern residential roofing company serving homeowners across Dallas and the surrounding area.
The goal was to rethink the typical roofing website experience — moving away from a generic list of roofing services and instead creating a clearer customer journey built around trust, education, proof, and taking action.
The experience was designed to help a homeowner understand what Northline does, why the company can be trusted, what happens during the roofing process, and what to do next.
The Challenge
Roofing is a high-consideration purchase.
A homeowner may not know what is actually wrong with their roof, what work they need, how much urgency there is, or which roofing company they can trust.
That means the website needs to do more than showcase services.
It needs to reduce uncertainty.
The concept was therefore built around a simple question:
How can a roofing website make a homeowner feel more informed and confident before they ever make the call?
Goals
Create a stronger first impression for a professional roofing company
Make the customer journey easier to understand
Turn complex roofing decisions into simple, digestible information
Build trust before the first conversation
Present completed work as meaningful proof rather than just a gallery
Make the inspection/request process clear and easy
Create strong conversion points without making the experience feel overly sales-driven
Establish a visual identity that feels professional, trustworthy and modern
Strategy & UX
I structured the experience around the homeowner's decision journey rather than starting with a traditional service list.
The homepage moves through:
Understand the problem → Explore options → Build trust → See the work → Understand the process → Request an inspection
Key UX decisions included:
Problem-first messaging
The website starts with the homeowner rather than the company itself.
Educational content
Roofing concepts are simplified into short sections so visitors can understand what they may be dealing with without needing industry knowledge.
Service clarity
Services are organized around real homeowner needs such as roof repair, replacement, storm damage and inspections.
Process transparency
The inspection-to-completion journey is explained in four simple stages, reducing uncertainty around what happens after contacting the company.
Proof through projects
Completed roofing work is given a dedicated visual section to help prospects understand the quality of the work.
Conversion throughout the journey
CTAs are strategically placed without turning every section into a hard sell.
Inspection-first conversion
Instead of pushing an immediate “buy,” the primary action is requesting a free roof inspection — a more natural first step for this category.
Visual Direction
I wanted Northline to feel professional, dependable and established, without falling into the usual roofing-industry visual clichés.
The visual system uses:
restrained neutral tones
a strong dark foundation
a single orange accent for actions
clean typography
generous spacing
structured information hierarchy
large project imagery
understated UI elements
The design intentionally avoids excessive gradients, generic construction aesthetics and overly aggressive sales visuals.
The result is meant to feel closer to a modern professional service brand than a traditional contractor website.
The website is designed across desktop and mobile experiences, with the information hierarchy and CTA system adapting to smaller screens rather than simply shrinking the desktop layout.
