Personalized Travel Planning for Mobile

MyStreetBook helps travelers build routes around their destination, available time, interests, transportation preferences, and price range. Users can plan ahead, then adjust a route while exploring by adding or removing places and recalculating the journey.
The product already had web and mobile versions. My work focused on the continued development, maintenance, and improvement of the existing iOS and Android application.

Local Discovery and Route Adaptation

The mobile experience brings route planning together with local discovery, including gastronomy, artisans, urban art, trails, fairs, cultural events, and other destination content. It supports both structured planning before a trip and in-the-moment adjustments during it.

Mobile Implementation

The app used a hybrid Apache Cordova architecture, delivering iOS and Android from a shared HTML, CSS, and JavaScript codebase. I contributed to API integration, state management, performance and loading improvements, lazy loading of data, general maintenance, bug fixing, and App Store and Google Play deployments.

Outcome

The work supported the ongoing evolution of MyStreetBook’s mobile product across iOS and Android, improving the existing travel-planning experience and its day-to-day reliability.
