Lessons Shorts is a micro-learning mobile app that helps users learn quickly through short, engaging video lessons. The app focuses on delivering bite-sized educational content in a scrollable short-video format — similar to Reels or TikTok — but with a purposeful learning experience.
The goal was to design a product that makes learning fast, addictive, and accessible, especially for busy learners who prefer visual and interactive content.

🎯 Problem Statement

Traditional online learning platforms are often time-consuming and lack engagement, leading to low course completion rates. Learners today seek quick insights, visual learning, and interactive formats rather than long lectures.
The challenge was to design a solution that:
Provides instant learning gratification through short lessons.
Encourages consistent engagement with daily content.
Makes users feel progressive and accomplished after every short session.

đź’ˇ Solution

Lessons Shorts introduces a new way to learn — 60-second lessons designed by educators and experts. Each short includes visuals, voiceovers, and summaries to ensure high knowledge retention.
Key experience pillars:
Micro-learning: Learn key topics in under a minute.
Personalized feed: AI-curated lessons based on interests and skill levels.
Progress tracking: Users can save lessons, take notes, and track learning streaks.
Gamified rewards: Badges and streaks to boost motivation.

🧭 Research & Insights

Target Audience: 16–35 age group, students, professionals, and lifelong learners.
User Research:
68% of users prefer video-based micro-content.
54% abandon long-form courses midway.
72% of users want to track quick learning achievements.
Insights:
Learning must feel like entertainment.
A scrollable format encourages retention.
Quick content paired with visual cues improves memory recall.

🧱 Design Process

1. Empathize
Created personas like “The Busy Professional” and “The Curious Student” to understand user frustrations and expectations.
2. Define
Defined the core problem as:
“How might we make learning as engaging as watching short videos — while still being informative and valuable?”
3. Ideate
Brainstormed concepts around video cards, swipe interactions, topic-based filters, and gamified streaks.
4. Wireframe
Low-fidelity sketches focused on minimal distraction, simple navigation, and immersive viewing.
5. Design
Clean, distraction-free UI.
Vertical short-video interface with quick action buttons: Save, Like, Comment, Learn More.
Neutral color palette with accent gradients for visual focus.
Smooth transitions and micro-animations for engagement.
6. Prototype & Test
Conducted usability tests with 10 participants. Feedback:
Users loved the learning streak tracker.
Suggested “Topic filters” for personalized discovery.
Requested “Subtitles” for silent viewing.
