Complete Redesign of Ocean Clock's Online Store

In partnership with the team at NFBS Studio in Paris, I led the complete redesign of Ocean Clock’s online store, transforming it into a digital experience that fully embodies their identity, values, and craftsmanship. The goal was to create a website that feels as genuine and inspiring as their physical shop in Hossegor, while improving usability, storytelling, and overall performance to drive higher conversions.
Founded in 2015, Ocean Clock began as a small family project born from a simple but meaningful idea — to modernize an old tide clock given to Stéphanie’s parents, oyster farmers in the Landes region. What started as handcrafted pieces made in their living room quickly evolved into a beloved French brand, known for its thoughtful design, simplicity, and authenticity. Today, their collection extends from tide clocks to barometers, thermometers, lunar clocks, and other decorative instruments that blend tradition with modern aesthetics.
Our challenge was to translate this spirit into a contemporary digital environment without losing the human touch that defines the brand. Working closely with Ocean Clock’s founders, we immersed ourselves in their story, materials, and color palette, drawing inspiration from the textures, tones, and calm rhythm of coastal life that are present in every one of their creations.
We completely redefined the visual system and UX structure of the store. Every element — from the homepage narrative to the smallest product detail — was designed to reflect the harmony, precision, and craftsmanship that Ocean Clock stands for. The result is a clean, natural interface that allows the products to breathe, showcasing them through carefully composed imagery, subtle animations, and an intuitive browsing experience that encourages exploration.
Beyond aesthetics, we focused on enhancing conversion and performance. Navigation was simplified to make product discovery effortless, and we refined the checkout flow to minimize friction and improve completion rates. The new site architecture is optimized for mobile, ensuring a seamless experience across all devices. We also improved product categorization and filtering to help users find exactly what they need, whether they’re discovering the brand for the first time or returning to expand their collection.
The content and tone of the website were crafted to celebrate Ocean Clock’s heritage while aligning with their growing international audience. We balanced emotional storytelling with clear, concise product communication, making it easier for visitors to connect with the brand’s authenticity and craftsmanship.
In the end, the new Ocean Clock online store is more than a redesign — it’s a digital reflection of their soul. It captures the warmth of their Hossegor boutique, the honesty of their materials, and the serenity of the ocean that inspires their work. The project successfully bridges tradition and technology, offering customers an exceptional, immersive, and trustworthy e-commerce experience that feels true to who Ocean Clock is at its core.
