Mood Fast: Daily Mood Tracking iOS App

The Problem

Most mood tracking apps try to do too much. Journals, analytics dashboards, guided prompts — they turn a simple check-in into a 5-minute chore. People stop using them within a week.
I wanted something I'd actually stick with: open the app, tap how you're feeling, done. Under 10 seconds.

What I Built

Mood Fast is a native iOS app designed around one core principle: speed over complexity.
One-tap mood logging with zero friction
Clean, minimal UI that stays out of your way
Daily check-in flow that builds a habit without demanding attention
History view to spot patterns over time
No onboarding walls, no account creation, no feature bloat. Just fast mood tracking that respects your time.

How I Built It

I designed and developed the entire product solo, from initial concept through App Store submission.
SwiftUI for the full UI layer, using native iOS patterns and animations
Product decisions driven by one constraint: every interaction under 10 seconds
Iterated on the UX by using it myself daily during development
Handled the full App Store review and submission process

What I Learned

Building something genuinely simple is harder than building something complex. Every feature request I had for myself ("what about charts? what about streaks?") got filtered through one question: does this keep the core interaction under 10 seconds? Most of the time, the answer was no.
The app is live on the App Store with real users, and the constraint held up. Sometimes the best product decision is what you leave out.
