Editors often confuse effort with value.

You can spend 3 hours building an animation with 40 layers in After Effects — and the viewer will see it for 2 seconds.

They don’t know how difficult it was. They don’t know how many times it broke. They only experience the final result.

So if a simple zoom communicates the idea better than the complicated animation, use the zoom.

The goal isn’t to prove how hard you worked.

The goal is to make the video work.
