PROTERRA - Sustainable Infrastructure & Green Development

Proterra is a sustainable infrastructure brand committed to building greener and more resilient cities. This project focused on creating a modern, data-driven website that communicates sustainability through clear visuals, measurable metrics, and real project outcomes.

Proterra deals with complex environmental topics such as carbon reduction, energy efficiency, and water savings. The challenge was presenting these technical concepts in a way that feels simple, approachable, and visually engaging. The design also needed a consistent brand identity across desktop and mobile layouts, ensuring clarity and usability on smaller screens.

The responsive version was built to ensure seamless browsing across screen sizes. Key elements like metrics, buttons, imagery, and cards were adapted for comfortable one-handed mobile interaction. Spacing, typography, and image ratios were optimized without sacrificing brand consistency.

I developed a cohesive visual system inspired by renewable energy, clean architecture, and eco-friendly materials. The layout prioritizes readability, data visibility, and calm visual hierarchy. For mobile, components were restructured to maintain balance, allowing metrics, project cards, and process steps to remain clear and easy to scan.

The visual direction blends soft neutrals with nature-focused imagery to highlight Proterra’s environmental mission. Large type reinforces a bold, confident brand presence, while rounded components create a friendly and modern feel. Data cards were designed to showcase impact clearly, supported by icons and structured spacing. On mobile, content adapts into simplified vertical sections while keeping brand personality intact.

The final result is a cohesive website system that communicates sustainability through modern design, clarity, and measurable impact. Proterra now has a digital presence that feels trustworthy, forward-thinking, and aligned with its environmental values. Both desktop and mobile experiences present complex data in a simple and intuitive format, strengthening brand credibility.
