This video project kicked off a social media series for Middlesex University Dubai and EnviroServe, aiming to educate students and staff on the campus recycling system. The challenge was to make recycling guidelines both engaging and easy to remember for a student audience.
Problem & Solution 🤝
Recycling on campus was often confusing, with students unsure about which bins to use for different types of waste. My job was to create a fast-paced, visually clear video that could grab attention and deliver practical tips in a way that stuck.
I focused on:
Using bold motion graphics and clear color cues to differentiate between bins (e-waste, dry waste, etc.)
Including campus-relevant references and scenarios to boost relatability
Layering quick transitions and on-screen prompts to maintain engagement throughout
The result was a fun, informative social video that turned a mundane topic into something watchable and shareable, directly addressing the knowledge gaps on campus.
Results 🎁
The campaign drove strong engagement on social platforms, with positive feedback from both the university community and EnviroServe. Students reported better understanding of the recycling process, leading to visibly improved sorting habits around campus.
