Fall Is Here - Paid Partnership Spec Video

I created this paid partnership video on spec using stock footage from Artlist. The influencer and client are fictional, the autumn vibes are 100% real.

I noticed a number of freelance gigs asking for a social-savvy editor who could help create vertical shorts. Many of these jobs seemed interesting, but I did not have the portfolio to compete for this kind of work.

I needed to update my portfolio to demonstrate my creativity and skill with social storytelling. But, I did not have a budget for this project and I had no desire to appear on camera myself. I needed to do this as frugally as possible while still producing quality work.

Fortunately, there was Artlist. I combed the stock footage on Artlist and found some clips that featured a consistent model, location, and theme. I used these as inspiration to create a fictional character and video concept. Then I wrote the script and used Artlist's AI voiceover tool to give the character a voice.

I took that VO and put it on a Davinci Resolve timeline. I pulled in clips that fit the vibe, added a few transitions for energy, captions for clarity, and then finished with a color grade to give it that extra pop. The whole exercise was super-satisfying and educational. And now I have this piece to help round out my portfolio!
