I edited a satirical lecture-style video where I presented a breakdown of modern dating slang ("rizz") as if it were a serious academic topic.
The main focus of this edit was to subvert the boring PowerPoint presentation trope, turning it into a high-energy comedy piece that kept viewers entertained despite the educational format.
To achieve this, I used:
Comedic Timing & Pacing: I cut the dialogue specifically to land the jokes, leaving just enough "dead air" for awkward pauses (for effect) and speeding up during the rants.
Graphic Pop-ups: Instead of complex motion graphics, I used perfectly timed static images and text overlays to punch up the humor and visually emphasize the data.
Visual Punchlines: I treated the screen like a canvas, placing perfectly timed elements that interacted with my hand gestures to land the joke visually, not just verbally.
The result is an edutainment piece that feels:
Intellectually engaging (even if the topic is silly)
Visually active, preventing "lecture fatigue"
Proof that I can make any topic—and any format—entertaining.
