What is temptation, when did it begin, does it continue now? And what causes it? Is there an age limit? Why does a person succumb to temptation? How to face it?
Temptation means something that can entice you. The lure goes hand in hand with redemption. It originated in antiquity. It continues today and there is no age limit. One of the things that give rise to it is the desire for curiosity and the unknown. To confront it, we must stop becoming part of it.
The meaning of the word "temptation" is negative in most cases. There are very few positives and they hardly exist. Temptation is seduction, seduction, deception, or deception. All this is the same, but occurs in different forms. The companion of temptation is redemption.
According to the Bible, it originated in antiquity. The first image of temptation is the Devil (under the image of a serpent), he tempts the first woman-Eve with the "Forbidden Fruit". So perhaps when we hear temptation, sin, and redemption, we immediately think of the Bible, Eve, the serpent, and the apple (the "forbidden fruit"). This is the sweet temptation itself, but its redemption is costly. Redemption is taking on all the good and bad consequences of temptation. Everyone atones for their mistakes, sooner or later. Just as Eve was tempted by "sweet sin," so each person must make their own choices at some point in their lives.
It continues today, everyone is tempted by something. It is not in vain that some people say that it lasts a lifetime and is our enemy. It brings us from the least to the greatest harm, but it's all our choice and we choose how to act. Some people say that "the only way to get rid of temptation is to give in to it." Personally, I'm not to this opinion, because if we start to indulge in it, it becomes more complicated and brings us greater harm.
Life is full of lures and there are many different examples. The most famous examples are perhaps the temptation of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, and also Jesus Christ of the devil in the wilderness. If in the first case people are violators of the prohibition of God, for which they were expelled from paradise and became mortal and prone to sin, in the second case God himself, who in human body is tempted by the Devil as an ordinary mortal and passed the tests with honor, that one must fight against temptations. Examples of temptations can be found in books.
People of all ages can succumb to temptation. For example, we can take a child. He is also tempted. For example, his parents forbade him to eat more sweets than he should. But the child wanted more and took it without asking them, knowing it was not right. There are so many temptations for modern youth. This includes me. Some of us teenagers do not realize the purpose of life at all. Some of us just want to have fun going to nightclubs, drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes and Not only. Maybe we think we should try everything that catches our eye, but this should not be the case at all. Although we know it, we continue and help it all grow.
One succumbs to temptation mostly out of curiosity and the feeling of the unknown. For example, most of us are very curious to know what it feels like to smoke and are deceived and smoke, another example is drugs. All this is very unknown and most want to feel what it is.
For starters, Matthew 5:29 has excellent advice. "If your right eye offends you, take it out and throw it away; for it is better for you that one part of your body perish than for your whole body to be cast into hell. ”This sounds harsh, but it does not mean that we literally have to remove body parts. As soon as we feel that we are beginning to be tempted, we must stop it. But in practice, can we humans recognize it at the moment and find the strength to simply get past it?
He who has never tried something new has never made a mistake. Trying to suppress it, we face it. Although a desire, no matter how much it is suppressed, remains, it becomes even stronger. But remember that the temptations that come into your life are no different than those that others experience.
