Raising Awareness for the Tarahumara Tribe

In the remote Copper Canyon of Chihuahua, Mexico, the Tarahumara tribe faces staggering hardship—nearly half of their children don’t survive past age 10. This blog shares the journey of those delivering lifesaving care and preserving the dignity, culture, and future of one of Mexico’s most resilient Indigenous communities.

Why Do the Tarahumara Need You?

Most Tarahumara communities live a full day’s travel from any medical care, often without access to vehicles.
Families rely on rainfall for maize and beans. Droughts or herbicide overspray from drug-eradication efforts regularly destroy crops.
Once over 1 million, the Tarahumara population has declined to an estimated 70,000 individuals today.
