Shay is the founder of Freya Fit, a fitness training company focused on helping women get and stay strong through every stage of life, with a particular emphasis on pelvic health, prenatal, postnatal, and peri/menopause training.

For this project, Shay had already developed a strong, opinionated design direction for the Freya Fit brand and public website. The goal was to take that vision and implement it as a fully custom, high-fidelity Kajabi website—pushing well beyond the constraints of a typical Kajabi theme while keeping the platform stable, performant, and manageable.

The primary challenge was execution. Shay’s designs required layouts, interactions, and page structures that are not natively supported by Kajabi’s standard page builder. This meant the project was less about visual design and more about advanced Kajabi implementation and customization.

My team’s role was to take Shay’s designs and build them accurately inside Kajabi, handling all technical customization required to make the site function as intended—without breaking Kajabi’s underlying systems.

Specifically, my team:

Implemented Shay’s custom designs inside Kajabi with high visual fidelity

Built custom header and footer experiences for both desktop and mobile

Created custom program pages for three distinct programs

Implemented bundle pricing behavior for multi-program purchases (one-time payments)

Built a structured resource area and content system using Kajabi’s blog framework

Developed custom popups and reusable landing page templates

Ensured responsiveness, performance, and platform stability across devices

The project began with a technical review of Shay’s designs to identify where Kajabi’s native capabilities would fall short and where custom solutions would be required.

From there, my team:

Translated design mockups into custom Kajabi layouts and components

Applied custom CSS and structural overrides to achieve non-standard layouts

Configured navigation, site settings, and mobile behavior to match the intended experience

Tested edge cases to ensure customizations behaved correctly across browsers and devices

Throughout the build, special care was taken to balance customization with maintainability—ensuring the site remained usable within Kajabi’s admin while still delivering a highly custom front-end experience.

The final result was a fully rebuilt Freya Fit public website that matched Shay’s design vision while operating cleanly on Kajabi.

A distinctive, brand-forward website that does not resemble a standard Kajabi theme

Clear presentation of Freya Fit’s three core programs with flexible bundle purchasing

A scalable content and resources system for ongoing publishing

Custom interactive elements that enhanced usability without adding unnecessary complexity

The completed site gave Shay a powerful, custom public website that reflected Freya Fit’s unapologetic brand voice—while retaining the reliability and ease-of-use of Kajabi under the hood.
