Two weeks ago, the new president Javier Milei just finished giving a special address at the Davos convention which is held annually. An international colloquium conducted by the World Economic Forum, where business and political leaders, economists, and journalists attend every approaching end of January. Much of what he polemicized is directly reflective of his ideologies — whether political, social, or economic.
If you have been reading (or watching) the news, then you would’ve heard of this man right here… Reputed as feisty, hostile, and hot-tempered, he’s a president often compared to Donald Trump due to his sensationalist takes and appearances live. Though not as calm and composed as Trump, he shares characteristics similar to those of the Orange Man, i.e., his anti-woke, anti-Left rhetoric.

Here’s what you need to know about Milei: the basics

Watching his special address in Davos, we witness once more his enduring anti-Woke rhetoric coloring his entire thirty-minute diatribe. Milei went on to make such a resonating speech that it was…
He hated the State — Opposing state intervention is essential to libertarian politics, as it upholds the individual’s freedom from the constraints of arbitrary government. Additionally, he uniquely claimed that the State not only sponsors the Woke ideology but also uses it to justify deeper statism — affecting individual liberty. [see The State and the Woke Symbiosis under]
He despised the Woke ideology — He went all-out in his diatribe, citing how this “mental virus” of wokeism has been the least common denominator behind the destabilization of Western institutions, nations, NGOs, universities, and media outlets.
He despised everything “progressive” — Opposing abortion and euthanasia, he would make for the “most hated person” in the progressive world. Likewise for gender and transgender ideologies which he saw as Wokeism.
He loves his laissez-faire and liberalism— Milei hearkened back on the successes of liberalism and capitalism, raising the standard of living for everyone. He recalled the fact that most economies prior to the year 1800 remained relatively constant, and only rose when capitalism took hold. He argued that liberalism which upheld “liberty” as the most important virtue, begat such universal socio-economic transformation. Milei recalled that capitalism and liberalism, and the industrial revolution they ushered had beaten the “inevitable” Malthusian trap.
