Create a bespoke illustrated map for Resplendent Ceylon's luxury travel experience across Sri Lanka. The map needed to capture the essence of three distinct journeys (Tea, Sea, and Safari) while aligning with the refined visual identity of Relais & Châteaux, one of the world's most prestigious hospitality associations.

This wasn't a standard map. It needed to function as both a practical travel guide and a collectible piece of art. The illustration had to represent Sri Lanka's diverse geography, from hill country tea estates to coastal beaches to wildlife reserves, while maintaining the elegance expected by a luxury hospitality brand. Every landmark, route, and detail had to feel hand-crafted and intentional.

The map was developed as a fully hand-drawn illustration, combining detailed landmark depictions with a warm, inviting color palette that reflects Sri Lanka's natural landscape. Key locations along the Tea, Sea, and Safari routes were illustrated individually, each with enough character to tell its own story within the larger composition.

The visual language balances richness with restraint. Enough detail to reward close inspection, but clean enough to read at a glance as a cohesive travel narrative.

The illustrated map was delivered to Resplendent Ceylon for use across their Relais & Châteaux luxury travel experience in Sri Lanka. The project demonstrates illustration and art direction applied to high-end hospitality branding, where every visual detail contributes to the guest experience.
