Èṣù is one of our ancestors,Èṣù is the most truthful and trustworthy Irunmole,Èṣù makes sure our wishes /iwure comes into manifestation,Èṣù is diligent,Èṣù is Olodumare’s most versatile messenger/lieutenant.
Èṣù does not have a translation into other languages,Èṣù is Èṣù,just like Orúnmila is not translated to Jesus nor Osun translated to Holy Mary ,Èṣù also cannot be translated to Satan.
Èṣù was demonized and misrepresented when the Yoruba tribe was colonized by the whitemen,also the late bishop Ajayi crowther also cemented this misrepresentation by translating Èṣù as Satani in the Yoruba bible.
In order to correct this wrong,the 24th of December was declared the ÈṢÙ IS NOT SATAN DAY in order to enlighten people about who this our great ancestor is.
For this year’s event,there are several walks for ÈṢÙ,check the schedule below;
1)Walk for Èṣù along with Èṣù veneration,interviews and refreshments,people will be converging by 9AM at the Deji of Akure’s palace ,Akure,Ondo state.the event will be taking place there,this event is organised by Ayobami Ogedengbe (Araba of Oke-Agbe ) in collaboration with Ona owuro temple in collaboration with the international council of Ifa religion .
2)Walk for Èṣù along with music,poetry,drama and prizes at the Air Force base ,Ikeja,Lagos state,organized by the International council of Ifa religion in collaboration with the oniseses in diaspora.
3)Walk for Èṣù along with the feeding of 1,200 homeless people at Csep 32-34 Syndenham road croydon Cro 2ef,UK,organized by the Ifadiwura temple.
Some others are also having a Èṣù is not Satan walk on the day,unfortunately I don’t have the information,if you do kindly share with me for a repost of the information.
Èṣù is not Satan day will also be observed and celebrated by various Ifa temples across the world.
