Migrated the client's tourism ticket booking platform from Stripe to Mollie to reduce transaction fees for the client and preserve the intended checkout experience. Mollie was a strong fit thanks to its better alignment with the platform's European market, lower per-transaction pricing. The switch also resolved occasional "pending" payment statuses from Stripe that would have impacted the user experience, since the booking flow was designed to return a final payment status in real time. Handling those pending cases would have required reworking the flow to show a pending state and notify the customer of the final status later by message — an approach the client preferred to avoid. Moving to Mollie kept the original real-time confirmation flow intact. Handled the full integration including webhook setup for instant payment status updates, and the migration was completed with no disruption to live bookings.
