WOMEN'S DAY CAMPAIGN 2024
This project was created and developed for the women's day campaign.
International Women's Day is celebrated on March 8 and is a date that seeks to promote gender equality and celebrate the social, economic, political and cultural achievements of women. Originating from the struggles of female workers in the late 19th and early 20th centuries for better working conditions, International Women's Day has evolved to become a day of recognition of the inequalities faced by women around the world.
The history behind International Women's Day dates back to a demonstration held on March 8, 1908, in New York, in which textile factory workers protested for better working conditions and labor rights. The date was chosen to honor these women and to remember women's struggles throughout history for equal rights and opportunities.
In 1910, during the Second International Conference of Socialist Women in Copenhagen, German socialist leader Clara Zetkin proposed the creation of an international women's day to celebrate the achievements and struggle for women's rights. The proposal was approved and the first International Women's Day was celebrated in 1911 in several European countries.
Throughout the 20th century, International Women's Day was adopted in many countries and became an occasion to highlight issues of gender equality, as well as to honor the achievements and efforts of women in all spheres of society. In recent years, the date has been marked by marches, demonstrations and activities to promote gender equality, combat violence against women and reaffirm the commitment to women's rights.
While there has been significant progress regarding women's rights over the past century, there is still much to be done to achieve gender equality around the world. International Women's Day serves as a reminder that the fight for equal rights and opportunities for women and girls remains an important and urgent issue.
