About the Project
Mona Lisa, founder of VanityTools, reached out to me on Contra after seeing a previous beauty brand project in my portfolio.
She had a strong product — The VanityHood — already featured on top US beauty blogs like Beauty Independent, Fox, Essence, and Hot Topic.
But her website didn’t reflect that level of credibility.
She needed a store that could:
Clearly tell her brand story
Match the premium quality of her product
Position the brand for growth and potential investors
The Challenge
Low conversion rate (0.15%) despite strong product validation
Product pages lacked structure and clarity
Weak storytelling and brand positioning
Limited social proof integration
No strong SEO foundation for organic growth
My Approach
I focused on building a Shopify store that balances brand storytelling, trust, and conversion.
The goal was simple:
Make it easy for customers to understand the product, trust the brand, and complete a purchase.
