Military Transition Toolkit: planning tools for 1,260+ members

What it is

A free web app that helps service members plan their move out of the military: VA disability claims, retirement pay, benefits compared across all 50 states, translating military experience for civilian jobs, and terminal leave.
More than 1,260 members have signed up. The number on the site is read live from the database and rounded down, not a marketing figure.

Why I built it

I built the first version for myself. The information a transitioning service member needs exists, but it is scattered across official PDFs, forums and separate calculators. Once it worked for me, it was clearly useful to everyone else going through the same thing.

What I built

More than 90 tools in one place, including a VA rating calculator, retirement and pay calculators, a state benefits comparison, an MOS translator and a transition timeline.
A Claims Builder where members record conditions and symptoms for a VA claim, with a privacy policy that says exactly what is stored and how.
Shared household planning so a spouse can plan alongside the service member.
Account deletion from the web or the app, handled by one Supabase Edge Function that removes the member's data and their login together.
A companion mobile app in React Native (Expo) that shares the same Supabase backend.

Stack

Next.js, React, TypeScript and Tailwind on the front end, Supabase for the database, auth and Row Level Security, deployed on Vercel.

What it shows about how I work

It is a live product with real users that I maintain myself, so every fix, migration and outage is mine to find and handle. The same habits go into client work: verify against the live system, not just the code.
