This product sits at the intersection of digital media and education space, where podcasts are widely used but often poorly organized for serious learning. Many podcast apps focus on volume and entertainment, leaving professionals overwhelmed by content and notifications.
I worked on ION as a UI/UX Designer and Motion Designer. My scope covered product structure, interaction design, visual design, motion, and a video prototype. I was responsible for shaping the core experience from concept to MVP-level execution.
Approach
I started by narrowing the problem to three behaviors: discovering relevant content, keeping up with new releases, and learning efficiently while multitasking.
User stories were mapped early to define what mattered most for an MVP. I focused on reducing cognitive load by limiting choices on key screens and grouping content in a way that matched how professionals think about learning.
Low-fidelity flows and prototypes were used to test structure before visuals. Motion was introduced intentionally, mainly to support transitions and reinforce hierarchy, not to distract from content.

Testimonial
“ION feels thoughtful. It doesn’t try to do everything at once, and that’s what makes it useful. I could quickly find new episodes and still feel in control of what I was learning.”
— Paula Stevens, Early test user
