BEFORE YOU SIGN
You sign contracts written by someone with a lawyer. You sign them without one. šļø
THE PROBLEM
We've all had the moment keys in your hand, an empty apartment behind you, and a lease slid across the table to sign. Or a contract lands in your inbox and you sign it just to get the project started. Nobody reads the buried terms; you check the rent or the pay and move on.
I learned the hard way. I didn't get my security deposit back from one rental, and another time a clause meant I got paid less than I was promised. The catch: every one of those was written by someone with a lawyer and most of us sign without one. And you can't hire an attorney for every lease, job offer, or terms of service.
THE BUILD
So I built Before You Sign for the Config Makeathon, entirely in Figma Make. Paste, upload, or scan any contract with your phone, and get a plain-English breakdown of what to watch for: what each clause means, where it's hiding, and what to ask before you sign.
You could paste a contract into ChatGPT or Gemini but you get back a wall of text to wade through. I wanted the opposite: just the actionable points, with the exact clauses highlighted inside the document.
