ALORA

Alora is a digital healthcare and wellness platform that centralizes personal health data, tracking, and trusted resources within a secure, user-controlled environment. The brand emphasizes femininity, inclusivity, and empowerment, positioning healthcare as personal, affirming, and accessible rather than clinical or fragmented. Its tone and visual language aim to create a sense of safety and dignity for women and gender-diverse individuals navigating their health journeys. Alora was developed as a collaborative product and business concept for MGMT 355, where teams were tasked with creating a mock venture from idea through launch planning. Our team conducted customer discovery interviews and market research to identify gaps in existing healthcare experiences, particularly around information access and affirming care. These insights shaped a product vision focused on creating a centralized ecosystem that supports users across the full healthcare journey—from finding providers and resources to ongoing tracking and support.

THE PROBLEM

Research revealed that many women and gender-diverse individuals experience healthcare as fragmented and difficult to navigate. Personal health information is often spread across multiple systems, making records hard to access, manage, or share. Users frequently spend significant time searching for reliable resources and providers who understand their needs, especially in reproductive and hormone-related care. These barriers are even more pronounced for trans and gender-fluid individuals, who often face non-affirming systems or a lack of knowledgeable providers. As a result, managing health becomes time-consuming, isolating, and dependent on self-advocacy.

Alora simplifies healthcare access

by bringing personal data, tracking tools, providers, and community resources into one inclusive platform. Users can securely store and manage their health information while tracking areas such as menstrual cycles, fertility, and hormone therapy. The app connects individuals with nearby clinics, trusted resources, and directories of gender-affirming providers, and supports continuity through appointment scheduling and care reminders. Community forums provide peer connection and shared knowledge, helping users feel supported rather than alone. Together, these features transform healthcare from a fragmented process into a coordinated, user-centered experience.
