In December 2020, a new UK work visa, namely, the Skilled Worker visa, was introduced to replace the Tier 2 (General) visa. This, in turn, opens up the UK employment market to competent foreign workers who have a valid job offer from a sponsoring employer. Getting a job that is either at or above RQF level 3 (which is equivalent to an A-level qualification), meeting English language skills standards, and earning a minimum income should be important conditions for eligibility. The immigration visa selection is based on a point system, and the mandatory points levels are given for an employment offer, skill level, salary, and English language proficiency.
