Whilst they had an existing website, it was quite old-school and was in need of modernisation, whilst in keeping with the “family-owned” charm that their customers knew them for. Starting with a UX analysis, along with their own ideas and values, it became clear that there were a few potential pain points for users navigating their current website. These included: difficult navigation, buried content (such as careers, sector work) and a lack of modern UI treatment.

After wireframes were created, I focused on the homepage for both desktop and mobile devices. Once the client signed these off, UI treatment continued for the rest of the website before final sign off was given.

This was a really enjoyable project as whilst the client wanted to stick to their traditional roots, certain UI quirks were used to give a fresh, modern feeling. This included the use of a custom cursor and a healthy dose of white space to give each element the breathing room it needed.

The client were over the moon with the new website and it was a joy to work on such an interesting project.
