While you don’t have to be an English or Marketing major to write compelling copy there are some guidelines that have been proven to produce good results in this industry.
Compelling- Who wants to read a boring article? Your content needs to have just enough to keep your reader engaged.
Concise- Keeping it short and to the point. Your average target audience has an attention span of 8.25 seconds. What you’re writing needs to bring them along without being drawn out and boring them.
Clear- The best copy is the most simple copy. You’ve done the research and know what speaks to them. Now you figure out the simplest way to get it across
Credible- Copy is meant to persuade your audience. If you want to convince someone that this product or service is the best for them or can solve a problem, make sure you can back it. Expert opinions cited, graphics, PROOF!
