Scrubstr takes the idea of popular company review sites such as Glassdoor and applies it to the world of healthcare to bring its user base unparalleled transparency in an industry with often unclear realities
The Project
Contracted for the role of Software Engineer for the hospital and staffing review platform, Scrubstr, my task was to bolster transparency in healthcare services. Collaborating with my steadfast team at UniSyn, we were commissioned to revamp the existing desktop application and conceptualize its mobile counterpart.
Our choice of tech stack utilized the powerful hybrid platform of Ionic to unify our mobile and desktop code bases into one project, eliminating unwanted overhead and design discrepancies. Our marrying of Ionic with TypeScript and React, stemmed from the need for efficiency and secure design principles. TailwindCSS complemented our goal of crafting an accessible and sleek user experience for healthcare professionals and hospitals.
Initially, our business logic was rooted in PHP. However, to ensure optimal scalability and performance, we chose to implement the Serverless Framework, transitioning our business architecture towards a cloud-native model. This strategic shift bolstered our response times, significantly reducing potential downtime and ensuring high availability for our users.
Scrubstr, underpinned by our unified codebase and innovative API architecture, has been witnessing a steady surge in user acquisition. Today, it serves as a beacon of integrity and openness in the healthcare sector. Our intervention has propelled the platform’s growth, fostering increased visibility and usability, truly embodying Scrubstr’s commitment to honesty and transparency.
