BLAQUE LINE Ep. 1: Detroit Legend, Anime Drift Film

GHOST drives the white 86. KATANA drives the black 180SX. Detroit only has room for one.
BLAQUE LINE is a drift series I'm building for Samurai BLAQUE, and this is the pilot. One race, two and a half minutes, eleven cuts into the cockpit.
The outcome
A finished 155 second episode in 16:9 and 9:16. It went live on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Contra on 2026-10-10, the same evening the final cut was approved.
How the race works
The race is 3D, rendered in Blender EEVEE with my own cel-shaded Redline grade. The direction is driven by the song. Python reads the beats and section changes, and the camera cuts land on them, so the edit is already on the music before I touch it.
The cockpit panels
Every cut into the cockpit flips to a noir comic. I wrote the two drivers, built their model sheets, and generated the cockpit panels in Gemini from those sheets. Then code takes over. Each panel gets re-inked, halftoned, torn at the edges, split into panels that slam in on the beat, and hit with hand-built SFX lettering like KA-CHUNK and SKRRT.

The detail I like most is the screen-locked plaid. KATANA's jacket is a window into a red plaid that stays still on the screen while he moves through it. GHOST gets the same thing in black denim. It's an old cartoon trick and it makes the panels feel printed instead of rendered.

Dialogue is five short lines in the whole film (TOO SLOW, GHOST / TOO LOUD. / WATCH ME.). Each one sits inside a gap in the vocals so it never covers a hook.

Before it shipped, every render went through automated checks. Frame count, audio sync at four points, no stray black frames, no text over the vocals.

Pilot of an anime drift series. Cel-shaded 3D race shots cut against noir comic cockpit panels, every cut landed on the beat.
