Same traffic. Same offer. 3× the conversions. 5% → 15% conversion rate
Funnel rebuild • CRO case study
THE SITUATION
The client already had what most businesses spend months trying to build.
An established audience. Consistent traffic. A proven offer. Paid and organic acquisition already working.
But the funnel was converting at around 5%.
The obvious answer would have been:
“Let's get more traffic.”
I took a different approach.
What if the problem wasn't traffic?
What if the funnel was simply making interested people work too hard to say yes?
THE CHALLENGE
The goal was simple:
Increase conversions without increasing traffic or changing the offer.
Instead of immediately redesigning the page, I looked at the entire journey:
First click → landing page → trust → CTA → purchase
I wanted to understand exactly where interested visitors were losing momentum.
WHAT I FOUND
Four problems were costing the funnel sales.
01 — The message wasn't clear enough
Visitors couldn't immediately understand what the offer would actually do for them.
The headline described the program, but didn't make the outcome obvious.
02 — The page created too many questions
The offer was there, but important objections weren't being answered at the right moments.
Visitors had to do too much thinking before deciding whether the offer was right for them.
03 — There was unnecessary friction
The buying journey contained extra steps that weren't helping someone make a decision.
Every unnecessary step created another opportunity to lose the visitor.
04 — The CTA came too early
The call-to-action appeared before enough trust and value had been established.
Instead of asking for the decision too soon, the page needed to earn it.
THE INSIGHT The traffic wasn't the problem.
The conversion path was.
The funnel didn't necessarily need more visitors.
It needed to do a better job of turning the visitors it already had into customers.
So I stopped thinking about the page as a design project.
I treated it as a conversion problem.
WHAT I CHANGED I didn't just redesign the page. I rebuilt the conversion path. 01 — Rewrote the promise
I simplified the core message and positioned the offer around the outcome the audience actually cared about.
The goal was to make the value clear within seconds.
02 — Built trust into the page
I repositioned testimonials, proof and supporting evidence closer to the moments where doubts were most likely to appear.
Instead of making visitors search for reasons to believe, the page provided them at the right time.
03 — Removed unnecessary friction
I removed steps that weren't contributing to the buying decision.
The journey from interest to action became shorter and more intentional.
04 — Repositioned the CTA
The CTA was moved to the point where intent was highest.
Instead of asking visitors to act before they were ready, the page gave them enough clarity and confidence to make the next move.
05 — Connected the follow-up system
I also rebuilt the follow-up experience in GoHighLevel.
Visitors who didn't convert immediately weren't simply lost.
The follow-up system used behaviour-based messaging to continue the conversation based on how the visitor interacted with the funnel.

Additional traffic purchased
Same audience. Same offer. Same traffic.
A system that stopped leaking.
The client didn't need to increase their ad spend to get the improvement.
We improved what happened after the click.
THE BUSINESS IMPACT
A move from 5% to 15% conversion wasn't just a better metric.
It meant the existing traffic could generate significantly more customers.
No new offer.
No new audience.
No additional traffic required.
The funnel simply became better at converting the opportunity that was already there.
WHAT I TOOK FROM IT More traffic isn't always the answer.
When a funnel isn't converting, the instinct is often:
“We need more traffic.”
But traffic only amplifies what happens after the click.
If the message is unclear, the offer creates doubt, or the buying journey has friction...
More traffic just gives you more people to lose.
That's why I start with the conversion path before recommending more acquisition.
