Non-Alcoholic fatty liver (NAFLD) disease is very common type of liver disease all around the world.
Acute Myocardial Infraction (AMI) is one of common causes of death in patients with NAFLD. The
strong association between NAFLD and AMI has been indicated in many previous studies. The
underlying pathophysiology is unknown, but hub genes or pathways related to these diseases can
provide a better knowledge and understanding of correlation between two diseases. The authors of
the given study used bioinformatics methods to find the association of pathways and potential hub
genes for their research. The Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database was used for retrieving
datasets for both, NAFLD and AMI patients. Dataset for control subjects was also downloaded from
GEO. Differentially expressed genes for NAFLD and AMI were obtained and further narrowed down
to common genes for both diseases. GO and KEGG was performed. SPSS software was used for
analysing diagnostic values
