Gelavo Branding and Packaging

A brand identity for a new frozen dessert product launched in Summer 2018/19. The product, Gelavo, is a vegan alternative to ice cream made from avocados. Gelavo also strives to reduce food waste in WA by using only waste-grade avocados as their product base, as well as waste-grade fruits to create new and exciting flavours.
As a luxury item in the dairy-free ice cream market, a key goal for the branding and packaging was to communicate the nature of the product without using obvious imagery ie. avoiding avocado or ice cream imagery. This allowed for branding that was more subtle, and ultimately more suited to the luxury ice cream category. While the brand grew, the brief of required work expanded to include POS promotional material and event collateral design and social media management.
