Popped!

Overview 🔎

In Popped, I was tasked with coming up with a unique character and a story for that character. In Popped, I bring my character Concord Grape to life. He is a mushroom that has his popcorn snatched by an alien in an abduction gone wrong. I utilize Adobe Illustrator and Adobe After Effects to bring the storyboard to life with audio and visual animatics. I also have included some of the work that I did in Adobe Animate to create the walk cycle and the talking sequence of an angry Concord Grape.

Process 🛣

First handdrawing and mapping out the ways in which I would bring the storyboard to life. Also brainstorming how long each scene would last, as well as identifying any audio that would pair well with what was happening in the scene.

Takeaways 📣

I really found the unique challenges of bringing a storyboard to life rewarding. Creating animatics gets you one step closer to actually animating the characters which I played around with a bit as you will see in the link below.
