What happens to our bodies when we sleep? No, think about it. I had fun on this project because it required me to research this topic. And now it's your turn.
SL: 3 Signs You Aren’t Getting Enough Sleep (No 2 Will Shock You)
Dear X,
You probably don’t know this, but if you often wake up extremely tired, that’s often a sign that you aren’t getting enough sleep, no matter how well rested you think you are.
I know this because I used to be like you.
In fact, i don’t know if you’ve heard this about me, but I was once part of the United States SEALs team.
And if you are even remotely familiar with the portrayal of SEALs in main stream media, you’d understand that the Navy SEALS are practically one of the most dominant forces in the entire world. Which should tell you a little bit about how hectic and rigorous our trainings were, including our daily activities. Not to even mention how we felt whenever we were going on missions too.
It was that intense.
I didn’t know the effects of this lifestyle at the time until I retired from active duty, which again you can check out in full detail here.
But enough about me. Unto the meat of the matter.
Here are 3 signs you really should take note of (and fix immediately).
Short Attention Span:
If you notice that you are having difficulty paying attention ESPECIALLY when the activity you are participating in, requires you to listen. You should probably catch a sleep. Your body (and brain specifically) needs to reboot so you can be well rested & focus properly.
Headaches:
If you are getting constant headaches even when you are not engaging in anything that should cause that, you need to sleep asap. Most people usually often feel this headache, like a sharp pain on the side of their head.
Eye Aches: This one is often common to people who work a lot on their desk and requires them to partake in an activity that requires them looking at screens for prolonged periods of time. Not only are you straining your eyes, but you are also damaging it. You need to reduce the number of hours you operate on your computer (phones too), so that your eyes won’t end up being too sensitive to any form of light.
There are more signs to watch out for, but focus on these 3 for now, and the results will amaze you.

SL: What Happens When You Sleep? (Killer Details Inside)
Dear X,
Every night, almost everyone on the planet falls into a deep state of paralysis and unconsciousness. This cycle will last from the first hour, until the next day. But are you even aware of what happens in your body system whenever you fall asleep?
Certainly not.
Which is why this information will SHOCK you when you discover just how amazing our body works, and also how it impacts you, if you are not getting the required amount of sleep necessary.
You see, sleep is regulated by your body clock located in your brain. And this same body clock responds to light cues. This is why you fall asleep easily when there’s no light.
And when you do fall asleep, you enter 4 distinct Sleep Stages/Cycles, which averages between 90 – 120 minutes.
Stage 1 – Stage 2 is known as the Light Sleep Stage, which is when you are asleep but can still hear movements, your name and even feel it when someone touches you.
Stage 3 – Stage 4 is the Deep Sleep Stage, which is when your body is more relaxed, more oxygen flows into your brain, and you even start snoring loudly.
This last stage (Stage 4) is also when you start to dream. In fact, during this stage, the body creates chemicals to render your body paralyzed so that you can’t act out your dreams.
All these happens between a couple of hours, right from when you fall asleep, which is exactly why its recommended you get at least 8 hours of sleep.
And this brings me to my next question…
Are you getting enough sleep?
