One Autism – Web App for Connecting Autistic Children with Professionals
Project Summary:
One Autism is a web platform designed to connect autistic children and their families with verified professionals across the United States. It serves as a searchable directory, helping users easily locate and schedule appointments with specialists based on service type and geographic location.
Migrated Webflow’s native CMS to Xano, a powerful no-code backend platform, to provide more flexibility and scalability for handling structured data.
Structured and optimized Xano database tables to align with the app’s categories (service types, professional profiles, locations, etc.).
✅ API Development & Integration
Built and secured custom API endpoints in Xano to fetch professional listings dynamically based on user queries.
Integrated these endpoints into Webflow using Wized, enabling seamless real-time updates of listings without needing page reloads.
✅ Advanced Search Functionality
Implemented a custom-built elastic search using JavaScript to allow users to filter professionals by:
Service type
Location
Proximity (miles radius) from a user-defined ZIP code.
Ensured that the search was intuitive, responsive, and optimized for performance.
✅ User Experience Enhancements
Worked on custom JavaScript logic to improve interactivity on the front end, such as:
Dynamic result rendering
Geolocation-based suggestions
Scroll-lock behavior when filtering results
Technologies Used:
Webflow (Frontend UI)
Xano (Backend CMS & API)
Wized (No-code middleware to connect Xano to Webflow)
JavaScript (Custom functionality and search logic)
Impact:
This migration and custom build significantly improved the app's performance, flexibility, and user experience. It also laid the foundation for future scalability as more professionals are added across new locations.
