Restaurant Management System — UI/UX Design

A comprehensive UI/UX design for a restaurant management system built to handle the full operational workflow — from order intake and table management to inventory tracking and staff coordination.

Restaurant staff work fast and under pressure. The interface needed to be immediately understandable, operable with minimal taps or clicks, and reliable under high-volume conditions. Complexity had to be hidden behind simplicity.

The system was designed around three core user roles: front-of-house staff, kitchen staff, and managers. Each role gets a tailored view with only the information and actions they need.

Key design decisions:

Color-coded order status system for at-a-glance tracking

Large tap targets optimized for touchscreen POS devices

Real-time table map with occupancy and order status overlays

Inventory alerts surfaced proactively to avoid stockouts

Manager dashboard with daily revenue, covers, and staff performance
