Wanderly Travel is a fictional travel agency concept created to demonstrate how I would approach social media marketing for a travel and tourism brand.
The project combines content strategy, destination storytelling, promotional design, social media management, and performance reporting into one cohesive campaign.
02. The Challenge
Travel brands compete in a highly visual environment where simply posting beautiful destinations isn't enough.
The objective was to create a social presence that could inspire potential travelers while also giving them useful information and clear reasons to explore Wanderly's holiday packages.
03. Goals
The campaign was designed to:
Increase travel brand awareness
Build a consistent social media identity
Showcase holiday destinations
Promote travel packages
Encourage website visits and enquiries
Create content people would save and share
Build a stronger connection with potential travelers
04. Target Audience
The content was designed around young professionals, couples, families, and leisure travelers looking for convenient holiday packages, memorable experiences, and travel inspiration.
05. Strategy
I structured the content around four main pillars:
Destination Inspiration — Make people want to travel.
Travel Education — Provide useful tips and information.
Package Promotion — Present clear holiday offers.
Experience & Trust — Show the lifestyle and experiences associated with each destination.
06. Content Direction
Rather than filling the feed with random destination photographs, I created a consistent visual system where every post has a clear marketing purpose.
The content balances inspiration, information, promotion, and conversion.
07. Visual Identity
The creative direction uses premium destination photography, clean layouts, consistent typography, and a recognizable travel-brand aesthetic.
The goal was to make the Wanderly feed feel cohesive while allowing individual destinations to remain visually distinctive.
08. Campaign Creative
Three core campaign concepts were developed:
Santorini Escape — focused on destination desire and holiday planning.
Dubai Getaway — focused on a structured travel package.
Bali Experience — focused on exploration, culture, and adventure.
Each creative uses a clear headline, supporting information, and CTA.
09. Social Media Profile
The proposed profile was structured to immediately communicate what Wanderly offers.
The bio, highlights, visual feed, and content categories work together to make the account easier for potential customers to understand and explore.
10. Content Planning
The weekly content structure creates variety across the feed:
This keeps promotional content from overwhelming the audience while maintaining consistent visibility.
11. Conversion Strategy
The campaign doesn't stop at awareness.
Package posts include clear CTAs such as “Plan Your Escape,” “Explore Package,” and “Start Exploring.”
The intention is to move people from discovering a destination to taking the next step toward an enquiry or booking.
12. Community & Engagement
For an actual client campaign, I would also support the content with active community management.
This would include responding to comments and messages, answering travel questions, engaging with relevant audiences, and identifying recurring questions that could become future content.
13. Analytics & Reporting
I included a monthly performance dashboard to demonstrate how campaign performance could be monitored across:
The purpose of reporting would be to identify which content attracts attention and which content generates stronger actions.
14. Optimization
Based on the illustrative reporting framework, destination content can be used to generate awareness, while package-focused content can be optimized toward clicks and enquiries.
Future content could then be adjusted based on actual audience behavior.
15. My Role
Social Media Strategist · Content Creator · Graphic Designer · Marketing Manager
I developed the campaign concept, content structure, creative direction, promotional messaging, social media layouts, and reporting framework.
16. Tools
Google Flow · Canva · CapCut · ChatGPT
Google Flow was used to develop the visual assets for the concept, while Canva would be used to refine the final social media designs and presentation.
17. Deliverables
Social media profile concept
Content strategy
3 campaign creatives
Travel promotional graphics
Weekly content structure
Social media marketing framework
Analytics dashboard
Performance insights
Optimization recommendations
18. Outcome
The result is a complete social media marketing concept that connects visual storytelling with business objectives.
Instead of treating the travel account as a collection of destination photographs, the campaign gives each content type a specific purpose—from attracting attention to encouraging exploration and supporting enquiries.
19. Key Takeaway
The project demonstrates how I approach social media as more than content production.
For a travel brand, the objective is to combine beautiful visuals, useful information, consistent branding, strategic promotion, community engagement, and performance analysis to create a social presence that supports the wider business.
