Inventory Management System for a Fertilizer Company

Developed an inventory management system for a fertilizer company that enabled the tracking of contracted raw material quantities with raw materials actually being received from the supplier to prevent over and underpayments on the contracted amounts. I created a schedule of all the contracted raw materials and the respective costs. The schedule would enable costs of production to be compared with sales revenues so that profitability would be assessed.

Through this process I was able to come up with a process of ascertaining a reorder level for inventory and aligning purchases with demand to prevent stocking inventory that may not get sold and focusing mainly on meeting actual demand.

This process helped to control costs in the company and improved on profits as it led to the elimination of over expenditure on raw material inputs.
