The Lantern Initiative is a UK-based social enterprise dedicated to empowering individuals and tackling mental health stigma through education, events, and workshops.

As someone who had attended their workshops and admired their mission, it was meaningful for me to design and build their new website. Their previous site, built on Squarespace, no longer reflected the professionalism funders and partners needed to see. While their Instagram was always up to date, the website lacked clarity, consistency, and the right messaging.

Their goals for the new site were clear: a clean, neutral design with space to highlight upcoming events, a gallery of past events, and a dedicated support directory with a focus on Muslim services.

I designed the website in Figma and, once approved, developed it in Framer. The build included a customised CMS that displays only upcoming events and custom gallery components, so each workshop or event could have its own easily updatable gallery.

Since no formal brand identity existed, I also focused on accessibility and chose a professional colour palette that aligned with their theme and values.
