I was hired by Frontdoor, Inc. to work on several of their products, including Candu, a new on-demand home repair service. Targeted at homeowners who need appliance repair, Candu is a mobile and web experience where a user can enter their problem, receive an instant flat-fee quote, and book a repair. Candu partners with local repair companies, and after receiving the booking, they select the best local company for the job and dispatch them to the customer’s home at the requested time.
I joined the company before Candu launched and I worked closely with developers, product managers, and marketers to create the user experience of booking a service request. Below you can see several key screens from the booking flow. Challenges in this product included shipping a new service on a tight timeline under technical, legal, and legacy business constraints.
