The project
Café Timbuktu is a cafe place opening in the city centre of Perugia. They aim to bring the African flavours and culture in Italy by presenting products, drinks and dishes from the country of Mali.

Re-design process and simplification
Their original logo was an illustration of the Timbuktu Mosque
Re-design reasons
- Logo felt too pictorial and not legible enough
- Very difficult to use in real life situations and design systems
- Simplified logo mark that still evokes a concept but also memorable
