Automotive Social Network and Car Trading Platform
Early-stage Ideation, Information Architecture, UX design, and Interaction Design
The challenge
The future of global motor trading is here
Beepr is the first all-in-one tool for automotive training. This large-scale multi-platform marketplace provides trading individuals and dealerships a tool to build their trading network and reach more potential buyers. I worked on the early-stage conceptualization and scoping, and designed the complete information architecture of the product.
Information Architecture
Careful planning
User flows and interactions
Building a multi-functional system
To fit all that functionalities and user types into a single cross-platform app took around 6 months of careful planning. Working closely with the stakeholders and the development team helped me create a very detailed and flexible information architecture.
Using IA I managed to reduce the number of user types by 50%, from initially projected four to two. I did this by identifying user tasks of each user type and finding their touchpoints to merge two similar groups into one user type with flexible restrictions.
We went from user flows and application structure charts to high-fidelity prototypes for all three platforms, with every interaction planned and every UI element placed strategically.
Mobile App
Fitting it all into a pocket
All-in-one tool for everyone
Native Android and iOS Mobile Application Design
Mobile applications are dedicated to traders on the go. Many dealerships and traders use the app while driving, so the mobile experience needed to be simple, efficient, and safe. For this, we used native app elements and tailored interactions.
Emphasizing particular UI elements help the drivers quickly access their options or make a quick in-app call.
All the important things at the fingertips. Users can keep up with deals through instant messaging and broadcast their inventory in seconds. Growing their network of buyers and sellers through precise preference settings and group chats.
Dealership profiles can create their own page and sales teams to manage their vast inventories. Neatly organized inventories help traders sell remotely and even in-person while off-site.
Web App
Keeping the cross-platform experience consistent
Going big
Bigger screen for bigger tasks
I collaborated with developers to identified matching patterns on all three different platforms and planed the interactions accordingly.
The web app’s greater screen real-estate makes it ideal for office use. A bigger screen makes managing teams and big inventories a breeze.
The Admins have a great overview of all the dealership members, dealership inventory, network, and broadcasts.
Broadcasting can be scheduled in advance or can be used to announce incoming vehicles for sale.
The whole system has a considerable functionality scope nicely packed in a highly usable interface. To manage this my approach was mobile-first.
