Overview

Quickfix is a mobile application designed to streamline the process of booking home services and connecting users with trusted professionals. The app aims to provide a convenient solution for homeowners to access a wide range of services while ensuring quality and reliability.
People who shift from one place to another, or who are generally busy with their lives have a difficult time to look for a plumber or a technician for themselves. Taking recommendations from the neighbors, security guards, relatives etc., is not convienient always, especially when you are in a new or an unknown city.

User Research

I have conducted 5 telephonic interviews along with an online survey with about 15 users who falls in our targeted demographic.
A set of open ended questions, such as
How often do you shop online?
Have you ever faced any challenges while shopping online What was your experience?
How do you manage to get your small services done? such as calling plumbers, technicians, etc.
How was your experience while finding a service provider?
What qualities do you look for in a service provider?
What are the pieces of information you would like to know before calling for a service provider at home?
What kind of services do you generally look for?
How safe do you feel calling an unknown person to fix your pipe or electrician?

Affinity Mapping

After the Interview I have segregated the data into 9 categories i.e. Goals, motivations, age, languages, habits, pain points, personality trait, location, and profession using affinity mapping. This method helped me to understand the perspective of the users and gave me a clear picture rather than assuming things on my own.

Research Findings/Pain Points

Users have mentioned that the background information and Certification of the professionals is necessary before letting them in.
A time saving way at a reasonable price without relying on others for small services.
Users needs a cost effective way to find handyman for their home.
Difficulty in finding the right professionals.
Visiting the offline stores and dealing with the service providers, approaching them for the appointment.
Being avoided by the service providers at times and paying extra charges.
