Project Overview
In this project, my goal was to increase the local visibility of the client’s business by optimizing their Google My Business (GMB) profile. I focused on making their profile more complete, relevant, and engaging, ultimately driving more local traffic and inquiries.
Objectives
Increase Local Search Visibility: Improve the ranking of the business in local search results for relevant keywords.
Attract More Qualified Leads: Ensure the business was easily discoverable by local customers searching for specific services/products.
Enhance User Engagement: Encourage customer interactions through reviews, Q&A, posts, and high-quality images.
Key Strategies
Profile Optimization:
Fully completed all business profile sections, including name, address, phone number, website, business hours, and services offered.
Selected the most relevant business categories to improve local search relevance.
Used high-quality photos to showcase the business and products/services, enhancing the visual appeal of the profile.
Keyword Optimization:
Integrated local and industry-specific keywords into the business description and services sections to improve search visibility.
Added relevant keywords in the business name (when applicable and within guidelines) and other profile fields to enhance SEO.
Google Posts & Updates:
Created regular posts on the GMB profile showcasing promotions, events, and company updates, driving more user engagement and increasing visibility in search results.
Highlighted seasonal offers, news, and special announcements to keep the profile active and attractive.
Review Management:
Encouraged satisfied customers to leave positive reviews, increasing the overall rating and credibility of the business.
Responded promptly to all reviews, maintaining positive interactions and addressing any concerns to improve customer relationships.
Local Citations & NAP Consistency:
Ensured that the Name, Address, and Phone Number (NAP) were consistent across all online listings, improving local SEO and trustworthiness.
Submitted the business to relevant local directories and citation sites to boost its authority.
Performance Tracking & Adjustments:
Used Google My Business Insights to track key metrics like profile views, searches, and actions taken (calls, direction requests, website visits).
Adjusted strategies based on performance data, focusing on high-converting keywords and high-engagement times for posts.
Results
Increased Local Search Visibility: The business profile appeared in the top 3 search results for key local keywords, driving significant increases in organic traffic.
Higher Engagement: The business received more inquiries, website visits, and direction requests, with a marked increase in phone calls and website traffic from the GMB profile.
Improved Online Reputation: Positive reviews and interactions led to an overall increase in customer trust and a better reputation in the local market.
