Phreshly, a forward-thinking beverage brand, sought to revamp its packaging design for its flavors cans. The primary goal was to elevate the existing can design, transforming it into an ultra-premium representation of the brand. The client emphasized the importance of utilizing most of the packaging real estate, maintaining a premium look and feel, and incorporating specific elements from the current design.

Design Strategy:

  1. Elevating the Design:
    • Increased use of real estate: The redesign involved maximizing the space on the can to create a more impactful visual presence. The introduction of an ivory background added a luxurious and sophisticated feel to the packaging.
    • Trim color consistency: To convey the flavor of each product, the top and bottom trims were aligned with the corresponding liquid color, creating a cohesive and visually pleasing effect.
  2. Preserving Brand Elements:
    • Fruit and plant illustrations: The iconic illustrations of fruits and plants, representing the natural and fresh ingredients, were retained to maintain brand recognition and connect with the product's essence.
    • Founder message and illustration: The back of the can featured a simple yet compelling message from the founders, accompanied by an illustration representing the faces behind the brand. A QR code was strategically placed to seamlessly direct consumers to the brand's website or allow them to send a text, creating a personal touch.
  3. Enhancing the Premium Look:
    • Textural elements: Intricate patterns and subtle textures were incorporated to add depth and richness to the design, enhancing the overall premium look and feel.
    • Font selection and hierarchy: A refined font selection and a clear hierarchy of information ensured that essential details were communicated effectively without compromising the premium aesthetic.

Results: The redesigned packaging successfully elevated Phreshly's brand image, creating a visually stunning and descriptive representation of the premium beverage offerings. The enhanced design not only retained the core brand elements but also established a stronger connection with consumers through the personalized touch of the founder's message and illustration. The use of consistent colors and an ivory background contributed to a cohesive and luxurious appearance, aligning seamlessly with the brand's commitment to quality and freshness.
