Purpose

This video was created as a means to demonstrate some of my more basic editing skills, mostly consisting of trimming, matching footage with soundtrack, transitions and simple effects.

Process

To make this video, I have chosen a soundtrack, in this case, it was the 2nd movement of Rachmaninoff's 1st Piano Concerto. I chose a specific section of the movement in question, and that section often makes me think of the morning and nature, which was what I looked for in terms of footage for the video.
I went to look for free stock footage in the website Pexels, and proceeded to download the videos I thought would fit best with the soundtrack.
Once that was done, I imported everything into Adobe Premiere and started adding the footage over the soundtrack. In this case, it was mostly consisted of subjective choices, when it came to what footage went over what part of the soundtrack, instead of a methodological type of choice.
For the transitions, I took in consideration the length of each scene and how "smooth" the music was sounding, which I chose to reflect that into the transitions, although being careful not to overuse them.

Conclusion

I was quite satisfied with the end result, considering the limitations in terms of footage quality, length and the length of the soundtrack, I believe it perfectly showcases what it was meant to: The most basic level of editing I can offer.
