Designing for Sovereignty: Visuals Against Occupation

This final design focused on visual clarity and consistency, using a unified layout and color palette to guide the viewer through a complex historical timeline. I refined the tone, pacing, and visual hierarchy to keep the messaging accessible while retaining the urgency and political depth of the topic.
Carousel: Anti-Haitian Racism and U.S. Imperialism
The carousel below builds on previous messaging by highlighting how racist narratives are used to justify foreign occupation in Haiti. Using historical clippings, protest images, and bold messaging, the design connects long-standing Western slander with modern political interference. It reframes the conversation from superficial outrage to systemic critique, calling out the real agents of destabilization.
This set was created for the Black Alliance for Peace to accompany their public statement and deepen public understanding of the U.S.’s ongoing role in undermining Haitian sovereignty.
